Prime Minister - Helping Australian families with Back-to-School expenses
Information for schools and retailers
The Government has expanded the Education Tax Refund to include school-approved uniforms, purchased from 1 July 2011. Items of clothing including hats, footwear and sports uniforms approved by your child’s school as its uniform may be claimed from 1 July 2012.
This fact sheet provides basic information about the Education Tax Refund on one double-sided A4 page and can be distributed.
This A3 poster may also be distributed or displayed.

The Education Tax Refund - Claim everything you’re entitled to
The Australian Government is helping eligible families with the costs of educating their kids, with a refund of up to 50% on a range of children’s education expenses.
The Government has changed the Education Tax Refund to include school-approved uniforms, purchased from 1 July 2011. To check your eligibility and the full list of what can be claimed visit www.australia.gov.au/educationtaxrefund.
